Are tarot readings worth getting? Are they right for you, can they really benefit you, and what can they actually help you with?
Having been influenced by philosophy, psychology and spirituality, as well as cultures from all over the world, tarot reading is a practice that has a long and rich history. Tarot readers, or practitioners (as I prefer), use various methods to draw cards from a tarot deck, and extract and interpret meanings, messages and insights from the cards to answer questions asked by querents/seekers (that’s you, possibly).
>Modern Tarot: What It Is, Where It Came From, And How It Works
Now that you now a little more about tarot, let’s get into why you might want a reading.
Why get a tarot reading?
Tarot readings are a great way to help with all sorts of life experiences, big and small, like: making a career move, starting a business, improving your relationships, discovering your passions, moving homes, healing, self-improvement, and so much more!
You can think of it this way: if there’s something in your life that you are struggling to deal with, make sense of, or make a decision on- tarot can help you. If you’re facing a big change, feel stuck, or aren’t sure if you’re heading in the right direction, tarot can help you there, too. And if you’re feeling confused or overwhelmed by something, or even if you’re feeling okay but would like some fresh perspectives or to better prepare for whatever might be ahead of you, you guessed it: tarot can provide an assist.
>Getting The Right Cards In A Tarot Reading (How Do The Cards Know?)
The cards are an amazing tool that help you gain a better understanding of your experiences. If used right, they can help you connect more deeply with your intuition and navigate the challenges in your life more easily. Tarot does this by unveiling unconscious insight so you can make more confident and healthy decisions, and take actions that are better aligned for you. Having a reading with a professional reader, like me, guiding you through it is a bit like going to a friend or a therapist for advice, but with a little ‘magick’ thrown in.
Tarot is for anyone
You don’t, at all, need to believe in ‘magick’ or Spirit guides, or have any particular religious or spiritual beliefs to get a tarot reading or use tarot cards. Modern tarot is not actually associated with any culture or religion. Rather, it is a tool that is used by many people all over the world, in different ways and for different purposes; some for personal-development, some for therapeutic purposes, some for spiritual practices, and yes, even some for divination and the like.
The real ‘magick’ of tarot
The thing that makes tarot special is the imagery of the cards, which are rich with human-centric themes, philosophical ideas, and symbolism. Experienced, good tarot readers are adept at analysing the cards through various skills and methods, and extrapolating meaningful insights and messages that are able to shift perceptions, encourage self-reflection and personal growth, and create the space and opportunity for clarity, inspiration, and moments of realisation that help you navigate your life and empower yourself.
The truth is: tarot can be whatever you want it to be. It is a unique collection of artworks that have the potential to broaden your views of your life experience, if you let them. Seeing the way your life and stories can unfold in the cards is a unique and fascinating experience. You may even end up looking at yourself and your life in new ways.
>What To Expect When Getting A Tarot Reading
A tarot reading with the right reader can certainly be worth it
My journey with tarot has been eye-opening and unexpectedly valuable. The process is so interesting, and everything that I’ve learned and experienced through working with this tool has helped me cultivate a better understanding of, and relationship with myself and my life. It’s been an aid in self-empowerment; in developing more self-awareness, self-confidence, resilience, intuition, empathy, and more. Above all, it’s helped me navigate my life when things felt particularly murky. It’s one of many tools and resources out there that have the potential help us in positive ways, and I also think it’s one of the coolest.
I hope I’ve helped you get a better idea of what tarot readings can do for you. Essentially: tarot readings are super fascinating. You should totally get one. 🙂
